As arachnophobes nightmare season fast approaches, it seems one terrifyingly big fellow wanted to get a head start on the spider mating month.

September is known as the time of year when hoards of spiders head indoors to find cosy mating spots - much to the dismay of British homeowners .

But it seems one huge arachnid wanted to make a head start, and was caught on camera right before it attempted to make its way into a Londoner's home.

The enormous eight-legged creature creeped up on a man from east London, who did not want to be named, while he was sitting in his garden with his housemate.
